On behalf of the staff and congregation of Grove
Park, let me extend a warm welcome to you. We are thrilled that
you are taking time to visit our website. I believe that God
has blessed us with a tremendously talented congregation and
staff. God's blessings abound as His congregation continues
to seek ways to use their talents -- voice,
instruments, sign language, puppets, drama -- in and around
our community of faith..
Reverend Rodger Roach is a native of North Carolina. He
spent most of his childhood years in Reidsville and has always
lived in the piedmont area. After graduating from Reidsville
High School, Rodger attend Mars Hill College. He
graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Music (Trombone) degree.
Following graduation, he was a band director in the public school
system for five years. In 1981, the door was opened and the
Lord called him into full-time ministry. Rodger was ordained
by Grove Park Baptist Church in July 1989. He continued his
education and in 1993 received his Master of Arts degree in Church
Music (Voice) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Rodger has been very active in the church throughout his life
and has been the full-time Minister of Music at Grove Park since
July 1982. He has also been involved in the Baptist State
Convention on numerous music & worship team committees as well
as choral and instrumental programs. Rodger is also an
active participant in the North Carolina Baptist Singers and
Instrumental Ensemble.
Rodger is married to Judy Parnell Roach and they are blessed
with two children, Tyler and Tiffany. Their home is in
Burlington, North Carolina.
Rodger's newest hobby is pottery making; below are a couple of
fine examples of his work.
